Change?
Well, folks...it seems that the catch-phrase for this political season is "change we can believe in". And we ain't talking small change, either!
Obama wants to give away over 800 BILLION $ (yours, by the way) to the UN to distribute to "less fortunate countries" (mostly in Africa). And, along the way to this unprecedented giveaway, he wants to make sure that every American is covered with health insurance, and he's willing to garnish your wages to do it. Who knows, he may even follow the lead of Massachusetts in making it a criminal offense (punishable with a fine) to be caught without it! On top of that, he believes that every state should be required to bless and perform same-sex marriages, permit unlimited abortions, and basically do whatever they want (unless it interferes with HIS plan, and vast experience in modifying societal norms).
In terms of foreign policy, he will meet (without preconditions) with those who have stated they want to demolish the U.S., unless of course he decides not to, in which case he will do what he wants, without preconditions. And while he's doing that (deciding if preconditions are warranted), he wants to throw Israel to the wolves while protecting them as the best ally we have in the region (without preconditions, of course). Uh-huh! I can believe it.
Above all, he wants to change the "atmosphere" in Washington from one of loggerheads between Repubs and Dems to one of conciliation and working together....while making sure that everyone does what HE wants, since he knows best (he has all this vast experience and wisdom, you know). I can believe it?
This, of course, from a man who spent twenty years listening to his pastor revile white people, America, capitalism, the military and Christ...but of course, he never heard the pastor say any such thing! I can believe it?
Depending on what group he happens to be talking to, we hear different things...on the one hand, he calls Bush's Iran policy (keeping the military option open) "cowboy diplomacy," but then the next day (speaking to Israeli supporters) he says that he will always keep the military option "on the table." One of his own sycophants opined that "He (Obama) is always open to change, he's willing to listen...". Is that relativism I hear, or what? I can believe it.
Being the old geezer that I am, I tend to remember a day when we called his version of change "flip-flopping." I think the Bible refers to it as being "double-minded" and "speaking great swelling words having mens persons in admiration because of advantage" (Jude 1:16). In other words, pander to whatever and whoever, whenever, so that I can get more votes. In Texas we have a some words of wisdom about this kind of person..."don't trust 'em." What can I say? I believe it...just not IN it.
Beginning of the end.
In California, the Supremes decided that homosexual marriage is a "right," and cleared the way for it to be legal. In Colorado, the guv signed a bill that restricts any negative comment about homosexuality to inside the four walls of a church. In Canada, a pastor is fined thousands of dollars and told he can't preach from the bible (if it pertains to homosexuals). In Texas, a school principle called in Muslim Imams to indoctrinate grade-schoolers (despite having been told by the school board not to). In New Mexico, a photographer was charged and fined for refusing (on moral grounds) to photograph a "wedding" between two lesbians. In Massachusetts, the guv appoints a lesbian activist to a FAMILY COURT bench, in spite of a judicial panels refusal to certify or recommend her for the position.
These are just a few of the most recent goings-on in this (formerly) great country. And with every day that goes by, more of the same is added. My guess is that it's about time to find a cave somewhere, stock it up with food and water, and get ready to flee...it won't be long 'til Christians are on the extinct list (we're already an endangered species), and morality is totally non-existent.

What's wrong with this picture
This past week, Manishkumar M. Patel of Appleton, Wis. was arrested and charged with 'attempted first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child' for slipping the abortion drug RU-486 to his pregnant girlfriend, who later miscarried.
There seems to be something big time wrong with this picture. Patel is charged with causing the death of an unborn child. That's fine...he apparently did it. But the real problem with this picture is that if the mother-to-be had gone to the local abortion mill and had someone else suck the brains out of this unborn child, then it would have been perfectly legal...even though the unborn child was still just as dead.
Don't misunderstand me here...Patel DESERVES to be charged, strung up, dried and quartered. What he did is absolutely unconscionable and morally reprehensible. But so do all of the idiots that demand the "right" to kill their own unborn child.
Cheers
to the smart (and finally disgusted) folks in California who have had enough of; (1) the homosexual agenda; (2) idiotic legislators; (3) educators that can't educate, but can indoctrinate; and (4) being ignored by the politicians they put in office.
According to news reports, parents are pulling their kids out of school by the droves (a drove being more than a few and less than everyone) in protest over the passage and pending implementation of SB 777. (see the original rant on this subject under the Dec. 1 posting)
One forum called for a boycott of the schools, and another wants to make it longer lasting....even permanent!
What kind of effect is it having? Apparently quite a bit, since the state Superintendent of Public Education has sent memos to all school districts warning of the consequences of lost funding if the exodus either continues or increases. In addition to that, several home-schooling organizations have seen a sudden increase in requests for information.
KEEP ROLLIN' ON FOLKS! LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD!!
