Austin's Power Radio Celebrates Birthday
By Hank Beymer
Four years ago, veteran Austin area radio personality James Aultfather got a vision, a mission, and a goal from God...to raise up a new voice on the airwaves to glorify Him, and lift Jesus high.
Having been in the radio business for over 13 years, and a program director for a Christian radio station in Ausin, James knew that it would not be easy, or quick.

Incorporating Power Radio Corp. in 2000, James began praying, praying, contacting people, praying, enlisting prayer partners, praying some more, and finally.....praying! And those prayers were answered.
Receiving licensing and construction permission from the FCC in 2003, Power Radio KXPW 106.7 FM was about to become a full fledged reality.

Several fund raisers later, the radio tower went up, Power Radio obtained office space in Georgetown, and went on the air in April, 2003, broadcasting 24 hours a day with contemporary Christian music, praise music on Sundays, and a number of church services and preachers.
Now, a year later, the station plans a big birthday bash to celebrate their first anniversary of broadcasting the Gospel through music.
Called POWER FEST, this first annual gathering on April 18 will be held at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown,
and will have a full days line-up of bands and music, plus booths for churches and ministries to exhibit in. Sponsorships will be available to acquire booth space, and James estimates that over 6,000 people will attend the one-day event.
In addition to the music, there will be prize give-aways, food, fun, and most importantly...blessings for all who come!
Power Radio lays down a broad footprint in the radio spectrum, with coverage ranging from north Austin to Taylor, Jarrel and Florence, and west to the Liberty Hill area and beyond.
Known in the area as "Power FM", KXPW uses a hit music format that is the fastest growing format in the world today, and blends a wide range of genres, from Hip Hop to Pop, Techno to Rock, but all of it is "100% Jesus music for today's generation."
Part of their lineup includes Audio Adrenaline, Jars of Clay, Rebecca St. James, True Vibe, P.O.D., Toby Mac, Skillet, Stacie Orrico and Newsboys. They also feature exclusive artist interviews, and concert specials.
DJ J. Gonzo hosts a special high-energy program called "The weekend 22", and other programs include Z-Jam, and special youth interactive programming.
If you need more information about the upcoming birthday bash, call the station at 512-388-1900, but whatever you do...make sure to BE THERE! We need to support Christian ministries, and this one has a loud voice!! Help make sure it continues being heard.
